Beloved local venue Glen Street Theatre will celebrate 40 years of entertainment this season, with shows including The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Josephine Wants to Dance, Waltzing the Wilarra, and Two Strong Hearts: A Tribute to John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John.
The venue, which was built by the Forest Community Association, was built for the community by the community, and its lineup of shows for the 2025 season launch will honour the theatre’s legacy.
The 400-seat theatre regularly attracts 65,000 annual visitors and stages close to 200 performances and events every year.
This year, there are shows for every interest including kids and family, comedy, musical, drama andcabaret.
Northern Beaches mayor Sue Heins said Glen Street Theatre continues to be an iconic venue in Sydney’s theatre scene.
“I want to thank those former members of the Forest Community Association for their passion and commitment - Glen Street is their legacy for future generations to enjoy.
“Congratulations on this milestone birthday and here’s to another 40 exceptional years,” said Mayor Heins.
