School holidays are about to get more exciting, with the opening of Freshwater Beach playground.
Designed with a marine life theme, the new accessible playground includes a slide, sensory/musical items, monkey bars, swings, spinner, somersault bars, climbing area and nature trail.
And the best part? The playground is surrounded by new picnic shelters, BBQs, an accessible ramp and stairs, plus a timer lookout with a view of Freshwater Beach.
“We are rolling out many improvements to Freshwater Beach reserve under the Freshwater Beach Masterplan,” said Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins.
“These upgrades are not only benefitting the many families living in Freshwater and surrounding suburbs, but all people from across Greater Sydney and further afield who travel to Freshwater to enjoy a day at the beach.”
Freshwater Beach attracts many visitors over the summer months.
Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully praised Northern Beaches Council for providing locals with a new space to relax and play.
“The new community playground is a great example of councils… working with the NSW
government to provide good quality public face for everyone in the community to enjoy,” he said.
